Couples Christmas lights raise money for young patients

For over 20 years Roy and Eva Cooke have lit up Western Close in Feltwell at Christmas time with an impressive array of lights, festive statues and play music for all to enjoy over the festive period.

The past five years has seen them raise funds for My WiSH Charity, who support the West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust, with the focus being on supporting the phlebotomy team.

Roy said: “We like to support Shan and her team to help them when children need to have a blood test. My WiSH use the money to buy little toys and goodies so they get a treat afterwards.”

Sally Daniels, fundraising manager, said: “Roy and Eva had their best year yet raising £750. That makes their total to date to be £2,875 which is just fantastic and has allowed us to provide treats to so many children.”

Roy continued: “I love to see the children’s faces when they see our Christmas lights. It’s a lot of work but it gives me as much joy as it does the people who see them. I’ve already bought more for next year!”
