Where does my donation go?

You choose. This is the beauty of supporting a local charity. It gives you more control over your donation and how it can make a difference.

If you or a loved one have been cared for by a ward or department you may wish them to benefit from your donation. With over 100 funds spread right across West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust there is an aspect of care for everyone.

Have you spent time in the hospital and felt something would enhance care? Talk to us to see if, with your help, we can provide it.  We can even invite you in to see what you’ve purchased and the difference you have made, another wonderful thing about donating to your local NHS charity.

Donations over the years have allowed us to provide specialist equipment, toys, refurbishments and even new wards.

£10 allows us to provide beautiful pouches for our bereavement team to hand back precious items such as rings or locks of hair.

£200 provides one vial of beads for the Sentimag machine we purchased to treat patients with breast cancer.

£5000 buys a special probe for the Rainbow ward to treat their young patients faster.

£25,000 from our Forget-Me-Not Dementia appeal provided the much-loved memory walk in West Suffolk Hospital.

£500,000 allowed us to provide a new state-of-the art cardiac diagnostic unit.

How do I fundraise?

Once you’ve decided the area you wish to support you need to decide how you are going to raise money. It could be a cake sale, running a marathon or jumping out of a plane. The choice is yours but rest assured, we will support you along the way.

Just Giving

www.justgiving.com

Our chosen platform for donors is Just Giving. Using this platform allows donors to also give gift aid if applicable. This extra 25% from the government soon adds up to boost your fundraising.

Just Giving is a simple website to use that walks you through the stages of setting up. When selecting a charity please type My WiSH Charity or our charity number, 1049223. Just Giving also allows you to add photos and updates as well as share on social media.

Sponsor forms

If you wish to use sponsor forms please download here. Please note, in order to claim gift aid, donors must complete their full name, first line of their address and their postcode.

How do I promote my event?

Social media

Social media is a big part of your fundraising. It allows you to share your Just Giving page, update your friends and families on how your training is going or to invite the community to your event. When using social media please tag us in. We love to see your posts and to share them to our followers. We are on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, all as @mywishcharity.

Posters

Having a cake sale or bingo? Give us a shout as we have event templates for your posters.
Want to make your own? We can supply you with our logo in various formats to help give your poster that professional touch.

Merchandise

As a charity we have limited merchandise as we feel your donations are better spent on patient care. We can provide you with balloons and leaflets and lend you pop up banners, buckets and charity tins.

We also have t-shirts and, if you are doing a sporting event, we can provide you with a dri-fit top with our charity logo and your name so the audience can cheer you on.

Press

Talk to the charity team about your fundraising. We work closely with the local press and can help with promotion before, during or after.

What happens afterwards?

We hope, that once your fundraising is complete, you will know the charity team really well. We would love to invite you in to say thank you and you might even get the chance to hold the giant charity cheque for a photo. We will often be able to take you to the ward or department too so the staff can say thank you.
