My WiSH Charity’s ‘Grow Your Dough’ returns for 2025!
After a hugely successful debut, My WiSH Charity’s ‘Grow Your Dough’ fundraising challenge is back for 2025, calling on businesses, schools, families, and individuals to take part in this exciting event.
Last year’s challenge raised more than £31,000, enabling My WiSH to fund an activity assistant role to support elderly patients on ward G4 at West Suffolk Hospital, many of whom live with dementia. Thanks to the incredible efforts of participants, the activity assistant, now in post, is making a meaningful impact on patients and staff every day.
This year, as the charity celebrates 30 years of enhancing care, teams are invited to choose the hospital service they wish to support. Whether it’s the WiSH Upon A Star Children’s Appeal, the WiSHing Well Appeal enhancing adult care, or a specific ward such as the stroke unit or the Macmillan cancer unit, participants can direct their fundraising efforts to the area closest to their hearts.
Each team will receive a £50 starter donation, courtesy of generous sponsors, Knights Lowe, and will have three months – from 1 April to 30 June – to grow their funds in the most innovative ways possible. At the end of the challenge, four trophies will be awarded for:
- Most Dough Raised
- Community Engagement
- Most Creative Fundraising
- Most Dedicated Team
Tanya Fifield, My WiSH Charity’s fundraising officer and event organiser, highlighted the event’s impact: “Last year’s teams wowed us with their creativity! From game show-themed fundraisers to quiz nights, cake sales, and long-distance walks, they truly embraced the challenge.
“We’re excited to see the difference we can make with this year’s event, especially as we celebrate 30 years of enhancing our local NHS services, and the incredible impact that can come from working with our community.”
Chartered accountants and business advisors Knights Lowe are once again supporting the challenge, with Chairman Paul Knights sharing his thoughts: “Knights Lowe sponsored Grow Your Dough in 2024 and I was personally able to attend both the launch and then the final presentation meeting, I witnessed the fantastic enthusiasm and commitment of the teams for what is a very worthy cause.
“When we were asked if we wished to support the event in 2025 it was a simple decision as we remember the great atmosphere and sense of achievement by all the teams at the presentation meeting. Fundraising should be fun and enjoyable and involve as many aspects of the community as possible, the Grow Your Dough event delivers on all those and Knights Lowe are really pleased to be supportive once again.”
With free entry and the chance to directly support a chosen hospital service, ‘Grow Your Dough’ provides a unique opportunity to bring people together and make a meaningful impact on patient care.
