Located between the labour suite, operating theatres and the neonatal unit, the bereavement suite will provide a calm, comfortable space where families will be able to receive psychological and practical support following the loss of a baby.
The three rooms have been beautifully decorated and consist of the main bedroom, wet room, and a kitchen/sitting room which will also be used for counselling purposes. Bernadine Bramble, general manager for women and children’s services, said “The bereavement suite has been carefully decorated, with all medical equipment kept out of sight”.
We have had some incredible donors to this campaign and they were all invited to the opening on 25th July. We asked Jo and Paul Rayner, along with their son Thomas, to cut the ribbon. The Rayner’s raised £10,000 for the suite by holding a ball and were thrilled to be able to unveil the new rooms.
