As coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to affect us all, the unprecedented demand for NHS services also continues. We are working incredibly hard to ensure that we continue to provide extraordinary care for our patients whilst also looking after our staff.
We continue to work from home, social distance from our loved ones, stay indoors, and stay safe but, as we know, our INCREDIBLE NHS staff cannot do that. They are on the front line everyday, 24/7, to be there for us all.
West Suffolk Hospital, Newmarket Community Hospital and their community services are under increased pressure during this crisis. The hospitals cannot and will not stop providing the best care possible and staff will continue to go above and beyond caring for us and our loved ones.
With your help we have been able to supply:
- Calm rooms around the Trust to provide space away from the wards. These are Covid free spaces with soft lighting and comfortable furniture and allow staff to decompress during their shifts.
- Welfare packs for staff struggling financially or for those finding themselves having to isolate.
- Psychological support for staff when they are feeling vulnerable and needing someone to talk to.
- Equipment to aid wards and departments as they find themselves working remotely or virtually with their patients.
- Items to help patients who are isolating such as radios, quiz and colouring sheets and arts and crafts.
- We have worked with the Keeping in Touch team, supplying knitted hearts to both patients and relatives to keep them feeling connected.
- We were able to purchase fabric for the wonderful team of volunteers who made 1000 sets of scrubs.
This is just a few of the things we have been able to do and we couldn’t have done it without your help and support. But as Covid-19 continues the need for our help still continues.
Funds raised will continue to support the physical and emotional wellbeing of staff throughout this difficult time, as they continue to work hard to serve our communities. The donations received will go towards extra medical equipment, support services, extra patient welfare as and when the need arises, this can be anything from supply packs to devices that allow isolated patients be in contact with their loved ones.
Please help us raise funds to support West Suffolk Hospital and Newmarket Community Hospital and its staff during the coronavirus crisis.
