My WiSH Charity thank their supporters

My WiSH Charity recently held their annual thank you event, the first for three years, at the Bury Cricket Club.

Sue Smith, head of fundraising for the charity who support West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust said: “We try to thank as many of our wonderful supporters as we can, saying thank you is so important and something we take pride in doing.”

The event has been on hold due to Covid, meaning this year they held not one, but three evenings of thanks. Sue continued, “This is the first time we have been able to meet some of our donors face to face, it’s been a wonderful, and sometimes emotional, few days”.

Sema Lease kindly sponsored the event and the Bury Cricket Club allowed the local NHS charity to use their facilities for free meaning the whole affair cost nothing to hold, something Sue was particularly proud of. “Having Sema Lease and the cricket club support us to cover the cost was just fantastic. These fundraisers have worked hard to help us enhance patient care and support staff and we want to ensure their donations do just that.”

Supporters were treated to some light refreshments including a selection of cakes from the hospital’s award-winning catering team and volunteers helped to serve and support the evenings.

Sue finished by saying that her and the team were privileged to meet so many amazing and inspirational people in their roles, she said “Everyone in the room had their own reason for supporting us and to see them all together, sharing their stories, was just incredible. We are so pleased to have been able to bring these evenings back”.
