Numbers For A Cause raises £2,100 for cancer services at West Suffolk Hospital
The cancer unit at West Suffolk Hospital has received a generous donation of £2,100, thanks to the dedicated fundraising efforts of the Numbers For A Cause Facebook group. This latest contribution brings their total support for My WiSH Charity to an impressive £5,116.
Numbers For A Cause is run by Sue and Trevor Giles from Barningham, along with Sue’s daughter, Nicola Bevan, from Hepworth. Over the past three years, the group has been raising funds for local charities through online raffles featuring a variety of prizes. With nearly 800 members, the group allows participants to nominate a charity to receive the funds each month.
The Macmillan Unit at West Suffolk Hospital was once again chosen as the beneficiary.
Nicola Bevan said: “It’s amazing to support our local cancer services again, as we can see the difference it makes in our community. We know this contribution helps give back to our Numbers For A Cause members and their families should they ever need to use the hospital services.”
Sally Daniels, fundraising manager for My WiSH Charity, added: “We are incredibly thankful to Trevor, Sue, Nicola, and all the members of Numbers For A Cause for their continued generosity. Their latest donation to support local cancer services at West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust is outstanding.
“These funds help us enhance cancer care by providing vital support services, including counselling for patients and their loved ones, Mindful Movement exercise classes at Bury Physio, and the HOPE cancer survivors’ six-week course. It’s an honour to offer these additional services to patients and their families during such a challenging time.”
