Staff at T K Maxx have made a donation of £500 to the My WiSH Charity

Staff at T K Maxx have made a donation of £500 to a charity which supports medics and patients across West Suffolk.

The team at the store on the Robert Boby Retail Park, in Bury St Edmunds, raised the money after successfully applying to their head office for the funds.

The money has gone to the My WiSH Charity which supports work at the West Suffolk Hospital, Newmarket Community Hospital and community services across the county and came through the store’s community fund award.

Tracy Blackly, the assistant manager at the Suffolk outlet, said they wanted to raise the money for a local charity and decided to choose My WiSH for the great work they carry out and as they were aware of someone linked to the store who has been receiving care at the West Suffolk.

“We requested the money through our head office at Watford and we were subsequently awarded the £500 and we literally did something with it that we wanted to do locally.

“We had to put in an application to our head office for it to be approved and fortunately we were successful,” she added.

Sally Daniels, fundraising manager, thanked Tracy and her colleagues for nominating the charity and added “It’s lovely to have the store support a local charity and to help us enhance care which could benefit both their staff and their customers. Working together like this really can make a difference.”
