Original artwork ‘Lucky 7’ by mysterious Suffolk artist, The Hat, is auctioned for children's appeal

Last year My WiSH Charity were lucky enough to have a piece of original artwork donated to them by fellow local charity, GeeWizz. Originally donated to them by anonymous, self named artist, The Hat, the piece is called Lucky 7 and was inspired by him meeting up with his family after the lockdown of 2020.

As a children’s charity, GeeWizz founder, Gina Long asked for us to donate any proceeds from Lucky 7 to our WiSH Upon a Star children’s appeal which is just what we are doing.

Our WiSH Upon a Star appeal supports young patients needing care from the West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust which includes West Suffolk Hospital, Newmarket Community Hospital and all the community services. The appeal allows us to provide the extras including a play specialist for the emergency department, toys for children with complex care needs and enables us to support children who have lost a sibling.

The artwork

This colourful, striking and thought provoking piece of abstract art would look amazing on any wall.

Painted in synthetic resin, it measures 84cm x 122cm x 5cm.

The artwork includes a message on the back about the inspiration behind the piece and there is also a handwritten note from the artist himself to be given to the lucky winner.

Who is the Hat?

Who is The Hat? No-one knows, but this mysterious, generous artist has left artworks all around the county for local groups and charities to benefit from.
